MOSCOW -- May 29, 2008 -- VimpelCom-Communications ("VimpelCom") and Microsoft Corp. today announced a strategic partnership to deliver new connected TV experiences to consumers in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States ("CIS") through Corbina TV, which will be powered by the award-winning Microsoft Mediaroom Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) and multimedia software platform. Corbina TV will be operated by Corbina Telecom, a subsidiary of VimpelCom.

The agreement was officially concluded by Jean-Pierre Vandromme, Executive Vice-President of Network Resources Management of VimpelCom and CEO of Golden Telecom, and Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer of Microsoft, in a meeting on Friday May 23 in Moscow. Corbina TV will be the first Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV service in Russia and the CIS.

Based on the Microsoft Mediaroom software platform, Corbina TV will deliver connected and personalized TV services for consumers in Russia and the CIS, with advanced features, such as video on demand (VOD), digital video recording (DVR), instant channel changing, and fast search to quickly and easily look up shows using keywords.

Corbina TV will be delivered as part of a triple-play package to Corbina Telecom subscribers through purchase of a Motorola set-top box, where consumers can chose between one with 160 GB hard disk or one without a hard drive.

Subscribers will be able to watch live or on-demand TV in standard definition (SD) as well as high definition (HD) and enjoy a connected entertainment experience. The service is planned to launch mid-2008.

At launch the service will include more than 100 channels and provide access to over 1,000 films, cartoons and series available on demand.

"Corbina Telecom's fiber-optical network is reaching almost every apartment building in Moscow and many other Russian cities and is known for its speed and reliability, providing its users outstanding Internet service. With the Microsoft Mediaroom solution, Corbina Telecom will also provide its users an outstanding TV service,"commented Dmitry Malov, Vice-President of Corbina Telecom.

As of December 31, 2007, VimpelCom's total number of active subscribers in Russia and the CIS was 51.7 million (including 42.2 million in Russia, 4.6 million in Kazakhstan and 1.9 million in Ukraine).

On February 29, 2008 VimpelCom completed a merger with Golden Telecom, a leading facilities-based provider of integrated telecommunications and Internet services in Russia and the CIS.

VimpelCom was the first Russian company to list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in November 1996. Its ADSs (American Depositary Shares) are traded under the symbol "VIP".

SAN JOSE, Calif. - May 29, 2008 - Symmetricom, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMM) today announced that it is highlighting possible causes of digital video quality problems of advanced digital TV in its catchy new video

http://qoe.symmetricom.com/video-nightmares.asp and reinforcing why perceptual video quality monitoring is a must for operators in a comprehensive whitepaper available at http://qoe.symmetricom.com/lp/Video_Over_IP/.

Designed to showcase the "Ten Video Quality Nightmares" real viewers might experience, the video encapsulates the potential technical reasons for the top 10 common video quality issues. The white paper, entitled," Delivering High-Quality Video over IP: Why Your Digital Video Service Must Be Monitored," outlines solutions for operators.

WHO: Symmetricom
WHAT: Video on "Ten Video Quality Nightmares"
Whitepaper entitled, "Delivering High-Quality Video over IP: Why Your Digital Video Service Must be Monitored"
WHERE: www.symmetricom.com
WHEN: Video and Whitepaper Available Now
WHY: To clarify possible causes of digital video quality problems and to reinforce solutions

"Faced with discerning customers when it comes to having good video quality, operators are looking for a simple solution to identify video quality impairments and their possible causes," said Symmetricom's VP-Marketing Joyce Kim. "Today's high-bandwidth video, such as HD programming, VOD and SDV, makes providing high-quality video more complex. Constant content manipulation from the content owner down to the viewer adds corruption risk-such as encoding/transcoding, digital ad-insertion, splicing and statistical multiplexing."

"With the wide range of complex video equipment, and aggressive compression goals to ensure lowest bandwidth and network impacts, operators face challenges to ensure video service quality meets the growing customer quality expectations or face high operations costs, high customer churn and slower service deployment. The video and whitepaper are designed to clarify the issues and offer solutions," Kim explained.

Highwinds Unveils Powerful New StrikeTrackerT Dashboard Features for its

StrikeTracker Version 1.5 provides real-time analytics, self-service
live event provisioning, policy-based content access protection, and
more

STREAMING MEDIA EAST, NEW YORK CITY - May 20, 2008 - Highwinds Network
Group, Inc., a multi-platform IP services and content distribution
provider, today announced significant enhancements to its StrikeTrackerT
dashboard for the company's content delivery network (CDN). The new
StrikeTracker Version 1.5 content management and reporting console
provides a wide range of advanced capabilities -- including real-time
analytics, self-service live event provisioning, policy-based content
access protection, and other important features not available with most
other CDN offerings. Attendees at Streaming Media East are invited to
explore the innovative new features of StrikeTracker 1.5 at Highwinds'
exhibit -- Booth 226.

"With StrikeTracker 1.5, we have implemented an unmatched feature set
for content management, reporting, and account management that further
differentiates Highwinds as the preferred CDN for the service provider
channel," said Highwinds CTO Josh Gagliardi. Gagliardi added that
StrikeTracker 1.5, which takes full advantage of the latest Adobe Flex
technology, "also provides graphical richness and ease of use that is
second to none when compared to other CDN dashboard offerings."

Real-Time Analytics for Fast, Actionable Data
The enhanced analytics package in StrikeTracker 1.5 provides
byte-accurate reporting delivered from the edge within 30 seconds of
delivery. Multiple dashboard views group related pieces of information
at various levels of detail. When supported with real-time analytics,
these views allow companies to make decisions that affect their online
content monetization strategies on a minute-by-minute basis, throughout
a campaign, without having to wait hours or days for actionable data.

Self-service Live Event Provisioning
Live streaming events can now be provisioned through StrikeTracker
without the necessity of contacting Highwinds. Using StrikeTracker's
point-and-click interface, event publishing points can be configured on
the fly and are ready to begin streaming immediately.

Policy-Based Content Access Simplifies Security Management, Maximizes
Control
The ability to control content access based on protection policies is
now available. Through the StrikeTracker interface, users can set
content protection policies on a per-folder basis. These policies are
inherited down through the content hierarchy, allowing for ease of
security management and maximum control. Support for multiple
protection schemes is available, including signed URLs, referrer
restrictions, HTTP basic authentication, and geo-blocking.

Raw Logs Provide More Detailed Information for Analysis
StrikeTracker 1.5 provides the ability to download "raw" logs -- the
line-by-line activity of a server -- filtered on a per-customer basis.
These logs are formatted according to industry standards, and can be
processed by a variety of commercial specialty log analysis tools.
Built on top of the same technology that supports the real-time
reporting features in StrikeTracker, the delivery of raw log data is
delayed by no longer than 15 minutes.

Virtual Host Configuration
Virtual Host Configuration is important to channel partners interested
in "private labeling" the Highwinds CDN. It enables them to apply their
own name, logo and other branding elements to the StrikeTracker
dashboard, creating the appearance that the CDN is their own, not
Highwinds'.

COMCAST AND GRIDNETWORKS ANNOUNCE COLLABORATION TO IMPROVE BROADBAND VIDEO DELIVERY

SEATTLE, May 19, 2008 - NCTA CABLE SHOW - GridNetworks, a leading provider of managed Internet video delivery services, today announced a collaborative relationship with Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA, CMCSK), the nation's leading provider of entertainment, information and communications, as well as an investment from Comcast Interactive Capital.

GridNetworks provides GridCasting service, as well as licensed technology solutions, for managed Internet video delivery through consumer broadband connections. GridCasting enables HD video for the mass-audience that will deliver a high-quality viewer experience, enhance content monetization, and deliver video in a way that is friendly and efficient on the broadband ISP's network.

"The collaborative discussions with GridNetworks are timely as we are working hard with a number of technology companies, the IETF and other leaders in the field to improve the efficiency of P2P on ISP networks. We are interested in the application of P2P concepts in a manner that puts the quality of the consumer experience first, and enables lawful distribution of copyrighted content while also efficiently utilizing the network," said Tony Werner, Comcast Chief Technology Officer. "GridNetworks has experience in this area and will have valuable contributions as we set out to solve these issues together with the Internet community."

"GridNetworks has built a delivery platform in conjunction with a managed service that can specifically meet the business and technical requirements of both media companies and broadband service providers for SD and HD content," said Tony Naughtin, President and CEO of GridNetworks. "We're excited to contribute to this industry effort."

Imagine to Demonstrate Superior Video Quality Across All Cable Digital Video Applications at The Cable Show '08

Imagine's Ron Gutman to Present on Video Layer QoS, Monday, May 19

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - May 7, 2008 - Imagine Communications, the leading innovator in advanced digital video processing and multiplexing solutions, today announced plans to demonstrate its powerful ICE™ Video Platform across all cable digital video applications at The Cable Show '08, May 18-20 in New Orleans. In addition, Imagine's co-founder and CTO Ron Gutman will present his paper entitled "Video Layer Quality of Service (QoS): Unprecedented Control and the Best Video Quality at Any Given Bit Rate," during the session called "Bit Parts: New Approaches for Managing Video Encoding" on Monday, May 19, 10:45a.m.-12:00p.m. in room #211.

"We're excited to demonstrate how cable operators can deliver the highest video quality while still adding bandwidth-intensive content, such as HDTV and VOD, to their systems," stated Marc Tayer, Imagine's SVP of marketing and business development.

In booth #529 at The Cable Show, attendees will see how Imagine's ICE Video Platform, which leverages breakthrough video processing and multiplexing technology, can help cable operators deliver the highest video quality while cost-effectively increasing bandwidth efficiency across all digital platforms. Imagine's core technologies of Interchangeable Compressed Elements (ICE™) and video quality measurement (ICE-Q®) address the video quality needs of cable operators. ICE-Q is the industry's first accurate objective video quality measurement subsystem. It consists of algorithms built into Imagine's video processing solutions. By accurately emulating the human visual perceptual system, ICE-Q ensures the highest video quality at any given bit rate.

The following solutions will be demonstrated:
" The ICE Broadcast System, Imagine's initial product, offers the highest video quality and most efficient multiplexing of HDTV and SDTV broadcast channels, allowing cable operators to add dozens more linear HDTV signals at excellent video quality.
" The ICE VOD System allows operators to deliver up to 50 percent more VOD streams per 256 QAM channel, with enhanced video quality-providing the ideal platform for next-generation, consumer-controlled PersonalizedTV services.
" The ICE SDV System further enhances the inherent bandwidth efficiency of switched digital video, while dramatically improving the video quality of existing SDV networks.
" Video Layer Quality of Service (Video Layer QoS) offers an unprecedented level of control by allowing content providers and cable operators to pre-calibrate and establish video quality levels, at the video layer, which can be sustained from content origination all the way to the set-top box.

IPTV to drive take-up of pay TV in Western Europe, says Analysys Mason

LONDON, UK, 08 MAY 2008 - The pay-TV market in Western Europe is
generally considered to be mature, but the increasing deployment of IPTV
services will see the market enjoy a modest rate of growth in the number
of households subscribing to pay-TV services, according to the latest
research published by Analysys Mason, the premier advisors on telecoms,
IT and media (www.analysysmason.com).

According to the Analysys Mason report, Pay TV in Western Europe: market
sizings and forecasts 2005-2013, the number of households subscribing to
pay-TV services will increase at a CAGR of 3.2% from 90.6 million in
2007 to 109.2 million by the end of 2013.

"The adoption of IPTV services will be driven by a combination of
factors, including the proliferation of multi-play strategies; latent
broadband growth; improving brand recognition, broadening content
offerings, and the general move towards digital TV services as the
analogue TV signal is switched off in Western Europe," explains the
report's author Richard Hadley. "However, the growing popularity of
IPTV among households will contribute to a slow down in pay-TV spend as
these predominantly lower-value TV packages are increasingly bundled
with telecoms services."

Key findings from the new report include:
- spend on pay-TV subscriptions, including expenditure on PPV/VoD
services, will grow at a CAGR of 4.5% from EUR21.5 billion in 2007 to
EUR28.0 billion by 2013
- CATV will continue to be the most popular pay-TV platform,
accounting for 48% of Western European pay-TV households at 2013.
However, this figure represents a notable decline in market share, down
from 58% at the end of 2007
- DTH will make up 29% of Western European pay-TV subscriptions in
2013, but will account for 54% of pay-TV spend, compared with 28% and
52%, respectively, in 2007
- IPTV will increase its share of the Western European pay-TV
households from 6% to 15% between 2007 and 2013. However, it will
account for only 8% of pay-TV spend in Western Europe in 2013.

The report provides a detailed breakdown of pay-TV households and spend
by service platform and subscription type in Western Europe as a whole,
and for France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Nordic region, Spain and
the UK, individually.

The report is available to purchase online at http://store.analysys.com,
priced at GBP1700 (approximately [EUR2170] ) plus VAT.
