SAN JOSE, CA, August 5, 2008--Wowza Media Systems, an emerging leader in
streaming media server software, today announced that its flagship
product, Wowza Media Server™ Pro, had been nominated to two categories,
Best Server Hardware/Software and Best Streaming Radio Solution, as part
of Streaming Media Magazine's 2008 Readers' Choice Awards.

Each year the premiere publication of the streaming industry turns to its
audience of C-level executives, analysts and other notables to vote for
the companies that they deem "the best of the best" across multiple
categories. Those interested in finding out more or casting their ballot

Wowza was a big winner in Streaming Media's 2007 Readers' Choice Awards.
Despite being a newcomer, it joined Adobe and Microsoft at the top of the
Server Hardware/Software category, placing ahead of well-established
players Apple and Real.

With this year's nomination, Wowza continues its track record of
excellence by not only reaffirming its leadership in the Server
Hardware/Software space for two years in a row, but also achieving
prominence in a second, new category, Best Streaming Radio Solution. The
latter, which acknowledges the rapid growth of streaming among both
traditional and Web radio broadcasters, comes in recognition of Wowza's
exclusive SHOUTcast-to-Flash® streaming capability that charts a unique
path to the vast Flash audiences for online radio.

Launched in February 2007, Wowza Media Server Pro has since become the
streaming media server solution of choice for more than 9,000 global
licensees, including such well-known customers as Macy's, the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers, Interoute, RAINet, and Astral Media. Among the reasons cited
for its rapid and enthusiastic adoption are its unmatched combination of
price, performance, functionality, and extensibility, which include its
recently announced support for H.264, AAC and exclusive interoperability
with live non-Flash media encoders.

The winners of Streaming Media Magazine's 2008 Readers' Choice Awards will
be announced at Streaming Media West, September 23-25, in San Jose, CA, as
well as in the October/November issue of Streaming Media Magazine and a
special digital-only feature on streamingmedia.com. The deadline for
voting is August 25.
